These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Koi (the "App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
About Koi
Koi is a personal habit tracking and wellness app designed to help you build positive habits, track goals, practice mindfulness through meditation and breathing exercises, and reflect on your journey.
Use of the App
The App is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If you cancel, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Payment will be charged to your account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions are managed through your platform's app store account settings.
Local Data Storage
All data you enter into Koi is stored locally on your device. You are responsible for backing up your device if you wish to preserve your data. We are not responsible for any data loss that may occur from device failure, app deletion, or any other cause.
This includes text entries, images, and voice notes you add to reflections and goal journals.
Media Permissions
If you choose to use reflection or goal journal media features, the App may request camera and microphone access to capture photos and voice notes, and photo library access to attach existing images.
You are responsible for the content you create and for ensuring you have permission to record or upload it.
Location & Solar Time Features
Some features in Koi — including Solar Time, which uses local sunrise and sunset times to shape your in-app experience — require access to your device's location.
By granting location permission, you allow Koi to read your device's geographic coordinates while the app is in use, solely to calculate sun position on-device. This data is never transmitted to any server or shared with third parties.
Location access is optional. If you choose not to grant it, or revoke it later in your device settings, Solar Time features may be unavailable or fall back to a default experience. This does not affect any other part of the app.
You can manage this permission at any time via your device's Settings under Privacy & Security → Location Services → Koi.
Health & Wellness Disclaimer
Koi provides general wellness tools including habit tracking, meditation timers, and breathing exercises. These features are intended for general wellness purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or therapy.
If you have any health concerns or conditions, consult a qualified healthcare provider before using the meditation, breathing, or other wellness features. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have experienced in this App.
Intellectual Property
All content, design, graphics, and other materials in the App are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the App.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
